Why people look for a Typeform alternative
- 10 free responses a month, counted across all forms in the account, per Typeform's own free-plan page.
- A hard stop at the limit. Typeform's help says that at 100% of the monthly response limit, forms go into private mode until the next month or an upgrade; respondents meet a closed form.
- Response-based tiers. Paid plans are sized by responses per month (Basic starts at 100), so a successful campaign month is exactly when the form needs a bigger plan.
- It looks like Typeform. The embed is distinctly theirs; if you want the form to look like your site, you are fighting the product.

Where Typeform is the better choice
Typeform's free plan is small, but the product around it is not: logic with branching, calculations and scores, twenty question types, integrations from Zapier to HubSpot, and AI form generation are all included on Free. For long surveys, quizzes and research where completion rate depends on the conversational format, Typeform is often worth its tiers, and no plain HTML form replaces that experience.
Builder or your own form: the actual decision
A survey with branching logic wants a builder; Tally is the free-plan leader there. A contact, order or booking form on your own site mostly wants to look native and deliver reliably, and that is a plain HTML form with a backend: no response caps tied to a builder's tiers, no foreign design, and the markup is yours. Our form generator builds the markup in a minute, and the free plan takes 1,000 submissions a month.
Replacing an embedded Typeform with your own form
A builder embed is replaced in two steps: a form that matches your site, and a backend that receives it.
- Take a form from our templates, or describe what you need to the form generator and download the markup.
- Point it at
https://formgong.com/submitwith your free access key, paste it where the embed was, and send a test.
The form inherits your site's fonts and colours because it is your own HTML, and submissions land in the dashboard inbox, your email and Telegram. The HTML docs cover redirects, autoreplies and the honeypot.

- Telegram: Every plan, including Free; several chats per form.

- Free plan: 50 submissions a month, 30-day archive.
- Telegram: Telegram plugin on every plan.
- Data location: May be processed in the United States and other countries where Formspree operates.
Watch out: The free plan is meant for testing; prices per submission are high on the small paid plans.
Questions
What is the best free Typeform alternative?
For a conversational builder, Tally: unlimited forms and responses within its fair-use policy, hosted in the EU. For a form in your own design on your own site, an HTML form with Formgong: 1,000 free submissions a month, email and Telegram delivery, EU storage.
How many responses does the free Typeform plan allow?
10 per month, collected across all forms in the account, per Typeform's free-plan help page. Logic, embedding, exports and integrations are included; the response count is the constraint.
What happens when a Typeform reaches its response limit?
Typeform's help says forms go into private mode at 100% of the monthly limit and reopen when the next month starts or the account upgrades. Respondents cannot submit while it is private.
Can I make my own form look as good as a Typeform?
A conversational flow takes work, but a clean form in your site's own design is straightforward: take a template or the form generator's markup, style it with your CSS, and let a backend handle delivery, spam and storage.
