Junip alternative: when your store is not on Shopify

When to stay with Junip

• Your store is on Shopify. Junip takes Shopify orders and sends review requests with no cap on Free. Formgong cannot take Shopify orders directly yet; you would send them through Zapier or our API, and Free sends up to 20 a day per site.
• You sell on TikTok Shop, Meta or the Shop app. Junip syndicates reviews there on its Growth plan. Formgong does not.
• You want an app that lives in Shopify admin. Junip is Built for Shopify. Formgong's Shopify app is still waiting for its listing.

For a single Shopify store, Junip's free plan does more than Formgong's, and we would say so to a friend.

Where Formgong fits, and what it does not do

• WooCommerce and sites you built yourself. Our WordPress plugin sends WooCommerce orders, adds the rating to WooCommerce's product markup and builds the Google feed. Any other shop sends orders through our API, Zapier, Make or n8n.
• Several sites on one account. Junip's free plan covers one storefront. Formgong lets you add as many review sites as you like on every plan.
• Voice reviews. A customer can record a review of up to two minutes; it is transcribed on the server and always waits for your approval.
• Your approval on each review. You approve each review, or choose a publishing mode. There is no switch to show only 4 and 5 stars; hiding a review asks for a reason.

What Formgong does not do: no direct Shopify order emails yet, no Shop app, Meta or TikTok Shop syndication, and no listing in the Shopify App Store yet.

Until 31 December 2026: an account that connects reviews gets every paid reviews feature free for 6 months: the AI summary, mood tags, translation and AI moderation. Your reviews and settings stay when the 6 months end.

How to move your reviews from Junip

Export from Junip

We have not checked Junip's export format or run a Junip file through our import. Rows with a star rating and a date come across through our CSV path; if yours imports oddly, write to support@formgong.com.

Then import it into Formgong

1. Create a free Formgong account, open Reviews and add your site.
2. Open the site's Import / Export tab, choose the file, pick the language of the reviews and press Import. A CSV of your own needs a rating from 1 to 5 and a date; text, name, product, title and reply are optional. Download the CSV template gives the column order.
3. Everything arrives pending, with its original date. Press Publish … imported reviews, or Undo this import.
4. Put the widget on your pages (code below). Reviews show on the page whose data-product matches their product.

One file can hold 5 MB and 5,000 rows, and you can run 20 imports a day, on every plan. Photos, videos and reviewer emails do not come across.

What Formgong Reviews includes for free

• Unlimited review sites and reviews. Text, photo, video and voice reviews on Free.
• A widget with no view limit. The review widget, carousel, badge and stars in product lists load as often as your pages do.
• Review emails in your store's name. Sent after each order with your logo and colours, replies to you, no email service to set up; buyers can rate inside Gmail without leaving the email, and get one reminder (how it works).
• Bring your old reviews. Import from Judge.me, Yotpo, Loox, Shopify Product Reviews, WooCommerce, Etsy or a CSV.
• You decide what shows. Approve each review or choose a publishing mode, reply in public or in private, and let shoppers ask the author a question.
• Google. A Merchant Center review feed, and product rating markup through the WordPress plugin.
• Reviews from your form. People who filled in your contact form can get a review request automatically.
• One account for the rest. Contact forms with Telegram and Google Sheets, an AI help chat, and free website templates.
