When to stay with Boast

• Video testimonials are what sells for you. Boast coaches customers with on-screen prompts while they record, adds captions, and lets you trim and edit. Formgong takes one uploaded video per review, with no editing.
• You want to text customers. Boast sends requests by SMS from its Team plan. Formgong sends email.
• You want happy customers sent to Google and Facebook. Boast's Team plan collects reviews for those platforms too. Formgong collects reviews on your own pages.
• You want a phone number for support. Boast answers by phone on every plan.

For a real estate agent, a coach or a clinic that lives on video testimonials, Boast is the better tool.

Where Formgong fits, and what it does not do

• A free plan. Formgong Reviews is free with no limit on reviews or review sites, with no trial clock and no watermark.
• Reviews on product pages. Each product shows its own reviews and average, with stars in product lists and a rating badge.
• Review emails after an order, free. A few days after an order, Formgong emails the buyer one page to review everything they bought, with one reminder, and those reviews are marked Verified buyer. A WooCommerce store sends its orders through our plugin; any other shop, or Zapier, Make or n8n, sends them to our API, and a CSV covers orders from the last 90 days. Shopify and Wix orders cannot be sent directly yet.
• Voice reviews. A customer can record a review of up to two minutes; it is transcribed on the server and always waits for your approval.

What Formgong does not do: no guided video recording, captions or editing, no SMS, and no routing of customers to Google or Facebook.

Until 31 December 2026: an account that connects reviews gets every paid reviews feature free for 6 months: the AI summary, mood tags, translation and AI moderation. Your reviews and settings stay when the 6 months end.

How to move your reviews from Boast

Export from Boast

Boast's plan table lists CSV export, and its help centre says you can download response photos and videos. We have not run a Boast file through our import. Rows with a star rating and a date come across; testimonials without a rating need one before they can be imported.

Then import it into Formgong

1. Create a free Formgong account, open Reviews and add your site.
2. Open the site's Import / Export tab, choose the file, pick the language of the reviews and press Import. A CSV of your own needs a rating from 1 to 5 and a date; text, name, product, title and reply are optional. Download the CSV template gives the column order.
3. Everything arrives pending, with its original date. Press Publish … imported reviews, or Undo this import.
4. Put the widget on your pages (code below). Reviews show on the page whose data-product matches their product.

One file can hold 5 MB and 5,000 rows, and you can run 20 imports a day, on every plan. Photos, videos and reviewer emails do not come across.

What Formgong Reviews includes for free

• Unlimited review sites and reviews. Text, photo, video and voice reviews on Free.
• A widget with no view limit. The review widget, carousel, badge and stars in product lists load as often as your pages do.
• Review emails in your store's name. Sent after each order with your logo and colours, replies to you, no email service to set up; buyers can rate inside Gmail without leaving the email, and get one reminder (how it works).
• Bring your old reviews. Import from Judge.me, Yotpo, Loox, Shopify Product Reviews, WooCommerce, Etsy or a CSV.
• You decide what shows. Approve each review or choose a publishing mode, reply in public or in private, and let shoppers ask the author a question.
• Google. A Merchant Center review feed, and product rating markup through the WordPress plugin.
• Reviews from your form. People who filled in your contact form can get a review request automatically.
• One account for the rest. Contact forms with Telegram and Google Sheets, an AI help chat, and free website templates.
