REVIEWS.io and Formgong side by side
Each REVIEWS.io cell comes from REVIEWS.io's own pages, read on 31 October 2026. The table has no prices; plans change, and the linked pages carry them.
| REVIEWS.io | Formgong | |
|---|---|---|
| Free plan | 25 review invites a month; product and company reviews; basic widgets | Yes: unlimited review sites and reviews, photo and video reviews, import and export |
| Review emails after an order | Automated requests on Free, within the 25 invites; SMS on paid plans | On every plan: WooCommerce through our plugin, any other shop through our API, Zapier, Make or n8n, or a CSV of past orders. Shopify and Wix orders not directly yet. Free sends up to 20 a day per site |
| Photo and video reviews, free | Yes | Yes, on Free: up to 5 photos and 1 video (50 MB) per review |
| More than one site | Priced per domain; each top-level domain is a separate subscription | Any number of review sites on one account |
| Google rich snippets | From the first paid plan | Our WordPress plugin adds the rating to WooCommerce's product markup. The plain widget adds none, because Google ignores a business's reviews of itself |
| Google Seller Ratings | Yes, on paid plans | No; a Google product reviews feed for Shopify and WooCommerce stores |
| Import from other apps | Yotpo, Okendo, Trustpilot and others; listed from a paid plan | Free: files from Judge.me, Yotpo, Loox, Shopify Product Reviews, WooCommerce or Etsy, or your own CSV |
| WooCommerce | A plugin that has not been tested with the latest 3 major WordPress releases | A WordPress plugin with reviews, review emails, coupons and the Google feed |
| Shopify App Store | 4.7 from 778 ratings; listed since 2014 | Not listed yet |
When to stay with REVIEWS.io
- You sell on Shopify and want requests to go out by themselves. REVIEWS.io's free plan sends automated requests after Shopify orders. Formgong cannot take Shopify orders directly yet; you would send them through Zapier or our API.
- You want Google Seller Ratings. REVIEWS.io is a Google licensed partner and lists Seller Ratings on its paid plans. Formgong has a product reviews feed for Merchant Center, not Seller Ratings.
- You sell on TikTok Shop or the Shop app. REVIEWS.io syndicates reviews there. Formgong does not.
- You text customers. Paid plans include SMS invites. Formgong sends email.
- You want hosting you can point to. REVIEWS.io lists AWS in Dublin, Frankfurt, London, Paris and Sydney.
For a growing Shopify brand that uses Seller Ratings and syndication, REVIEWS.io is the more complete platform.
Where Formgong fits, and what it does not do
- A free plan that does not stop at 25 a month. Formgong does not count reviews, and Free sends up to 20 review emails a day per site and 50 per account; an email over the limit waits a day.
- Several sites on one account. REVIEWS.io prices each top-level domain separately. Formgong lets you add as many review sites as you like on every plan.
- Review emails from any shop. A few days after an order, Formgong emails the buyer one page to review everything they bought, with one reminder, and those reviews are marked Verified buyer. A WooCommerce store sends its orders through our plugin; any other shop, or Zapier, Make or n8n, sends them to our API, and a CSV covers orders from the last 90 days. Shopify and Wix orders cannot be sent directly yet.
- Your approval on each review. You approve each review, or choose a publishing mode. There is no switch to show only 4 and 5 stars; hiding a review asks for a reason.
What Formgong does not do: no SMS, no Google Seller Ratings, no TikTok Shop or Shop app syndication, and no direct Shopify order emails yet. The AI summary, translation and AI moderation are on Formgong Pro, as REVIEWS.io's AI summary is on its paid plans.
Until 31 December 2026: an account that connects reviews gets every paid reviews feature free for 6 months: the AI summary, mood tags, translation and AI moderation. Your reviews and settings stay when the 6 months end.
How to move your reviews from REVIEWS.io
Export from REVIEWS.io
REVIEWS.io's pricing FAQ says you can export your reviews at any time, and its plan table lists export. We have not run a REVIEWS.io export through our import. Rows with a star rating and a date come across through our CSV path; if yours imports oddly, write to support@formgong.com.
Then import it into Formgong
- Create a free Formgong account, open Reviews and add your site.
- Open the site's Import / Export tab, choose the file, pick the language of the reviews and press Import. A CSV of your own needs a rating from 1 to 5 and a date; text, name, product, title and reply are optional. Download the CSV template gives the column order.
- Everything arrives pending, with its original date. Press Publish … imported reviews, or Undo this import.
- Put the widget on your pages (code below). Reviews show on the page whose
data-productmatches their product.
One file can hold 5 MB and 5,000 rows, and you can run 20 imports a day, on every plan. Photos, videos and reviewer emails do not come across.
<!-- Shopify: a Custom Liquid section on the product template -->
<div data-formgong-reviews="fk_your_access_key" data-product="{{ product.handle }}"></div>
<script src="https://formgong.com/reviews.js" defer></script>
<!-- Any other site: set data-product to the product handle from your export -->
<div data-formgong-reviews="fk_your_access_key" data-product="blue-teapot"></div>
<script src="https://formgong.com/reviews.js" defer></script>What Formgong Reviews includes for free
- Unlimited review sites and reviews. Text, photo, video and voice reviews on Free.
- A widget with no view limit. The review widget, carousel, badge and stars in product lists load as often as your pages do.
- Review emails in your store's name. Sent after each order with your logo and colours, replies to you, no email service to set up; buyers can rate inside Gmail without leaving the email, and get one reminder (how it works).
- Bring your old reviews. Import from Judge.me, Yotpo, Loox, Shopify Product Reviews, WooCommerce, Etsy or a CSV.
- You decide what shows. Approve each review or choose a publishing mode, reply in public or in private, and let shoppers ask the author a question.
- Google. A Merchant Center review feed, and product rating markup through the WordPress plugin.
- Reviews from your form. People who filled in your contact form can get a review request automatically.
- One account for the rest. Contact forms with Telegram and Google Sheets, an AI help chat, and free website templates.
