Formspree vs Formgong at a glance
Both services do the same core job: your form posts to their endpoint, and they deliver the submission without you running a server. The differences are in limits, prices and where the data lives.

Where Formspree is stronger
- Integrations. Formspree lists plugins for Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion, HubSpot, Salesforce, Mailchimp, Zendesk, Stripe, Zapier and more. Formgong has webhooks, email and Telegram.
- Teams and agencies. Team members, linked client emails and a rules engine that routes submissions to different addresses.
- Branding. Custom email templates and sending from your own domain on the Business plan.
- Files. 1 to 10 GB of upload storage on paid plans, compared with Formgong's small attachment limits.
- Track record. Formspree has been running for years and is widely documented by hosting providers and frameworks.
If you depend on those, stay with Formspree.
Where Formgong is different
- More free volume. 300 submissions a month on Free, and paid plans start at $5. Spam does not count toward the limit. Above the limit you get a 20% grace, then the form pauses; there are no overage charges.
- Autoresponses and CSV export on Free, with the autoreply sent in the visitor's language (12 languages).
- Telegram as a working inbox. Several chats per form, groups connected with a
/connectcode instead of a chat ID, and buttons to mark spam or change status. - AI lead scoring. Hot leads and likely spam are flagged in Telegram, email and the inbox; 100 scored submissions a month on Free.
- EU storage. Submissions are stored in Cloudflare D1 with EU jurisdiction.
EU data and GDPR
For a GDPR review the useful question is where submissions are stored and who processes them. Formspree's privacy policy says it may use and transfer information in the United States and any other country where it operates. Formgong stores submissions in Cloudflare D1 with EU jurisdiction, sends email through ZeptoMail (Zoho) from an EU data centre and keeps only a hash of the sender's IP address.
Two honest caveats: Telegram processes messages under its own terms, and AI scoring may be processed outside the EU, so disclose both if you turn them on. Formgong publishes a data processing agreement template (a template, not a signed contract) and a data and location page.
Switching from Formspree

_redirectfield._subjectand_replytowork as field names too. - Send a test submission, then connect Telegram if you want it.
<!-- Before: Formspree --> <form action="https://formspree.io/f/your_form_id" method="POST"> <input type="email" name="email" required> <textarea name="message" required></textarea> <input type="text" name="_gotcha" style="display:none"> <button type="submit">Send</button> </form> <!-- After: Formgong --> <form action="https://formgong.com/submit" method="POST"> <input type="hidden" name="access_key" value="fk_your_access_key"> <input type="hidden" name="_lang" value="en"> <!-- Optional: your own thank-you page --> <!-- <input type="hidden" name="_redirect" value="https://example.com/thanks"> --> <input type="email" name="email" required> <textarea name="message" required></textarea> <input type="text" name="botcheck" tabindex="-1" autocomplete="off" style="display:none"> <button type="submit">Send</button> </form>
Field names like name, email and message stay as they are. AJAX forms keep working: post the same FormData to the new endpoint with an Accept: application/json header. See the documentation for JavaScript and framework examples.
