Website form to Notion, one database row per submission

Formgong team ·

Sign in to Notion once and pick a page. Formgong creates a database there, or uses one you already have, and adds a row for every accepted submission.

Short answer: Open Form settings, click Connect Notion and pick a page. Formgong creates a database called “Formgong — your form name” in it, or adds rows to a database you already have. Each accepted submission becomes a row with a title, the time, the page URL and one column per field. It works on the free plan, with no Zapier and no Make.

What the database looks like

  • The title column is Name. It takes the visitor's name, or the email, company or subject when there is no name, and otherwise the first value.
  • Submitted at is a date column, so you can sort and filter by it. Page URL is the page the form was sent from.
  • Each form field gets a text column named after its name attribute. When a form sends a new field, its column is added and the rows that are already there stay as they were.
  • If you change a column's type in Notion to email, URL, phone, number, select or checkbox, Formgong converts the value to fit. A value that does not fit, like letters in a number column, is left empty and stays in the Formgong inbox.
  • Spam is never added to the database.

We read each service's own pricing and help pages on 12.10.2026. Where their docs say nothing, the table says so instead of guessing.

Formspree, Formspark and FormKeep connect to Notion directly, like Formgong, but only on paid plans. Formspree does one thing better. Its validation rules set column types before the first row arrives. Formgong starts every field as text and then follows the types you set in Notion.

Connect Notion

  1. Open My forms, then your form, then Form settings, and pick Notion.
  2. Click Connect Notion. On Notion's screen, select the page or database Formgong may use and allow access.
  3. Under Where should submissions go, pick a page to create a new database in, or a database you already have, and click Use this.
  4. Click Add a test row, then send the form from your site. Each accepted submission becomes a row.

Notion only lets Formgong see the pages you select on its screen. A new database is created inside the page you pick and named after the form, for example “Formgong — Website contact”. With a database you already have, Formgong keeps its title column and adds Submitted at and Page URL if they are missing. Each form writes to one database. One Notion sign-in serves every form on your account.

Field values, the time and the page URL are sent to Notion and stored in your Notion workspace, under Notion's terms. Formgong also keeps the submission in its own inbox in the EU, unless you set the form to keep nothing after delivery.

Limits and failures

Rows count toward the monthly submission limit and nothing else: 1,000 on Free and 25,000 on Pro. A long value is split into Notion's 2,000-character text blocks, up to 200,000 characters per field.

If Notion refuses a row, for example because the database was deleted or the page is no longer shared, Formgong tries 5 times over about 42 minutes. After the last try the owner gets one email about it, at most once a day per form and channel. The submission stays in the inbox, so you can export it as CSV later.

Disconnect Notion stops new rows on every form and deletes the saved Notion tokens. To remove access on Notion's side too, remove Formgong under Settings, then Connections, in Notion.

Questions

Is website form to Notion free?

Yes. Every plan, Free included, can send each form to one Notion database. Rows follow the monthly submission limit, which is 1,000 on Free.

Do I need Zapier or Make?

No. You sign in to Notion in Form settings and pick a page or a database. Formgong adds the rows itself.

Can I use a Notion database I already have?

Yes. Share it with Formgong on Notion's screen and pick it. Formgong keeps its title column and adds a column for each new field.

What happens when I add a field to the form?

The next submission that has it adds a text column with the field's name. Rows that are already in the database do not change.

Can Formgong see my whole Notion workspace?

No. Notion only shows Formgong the pages and databases you select when you connect, and Formgong only writes rows to the one you pick.
