What arrives in the chat
Every message has the same shape, so you can read a lead in two seconds on a phone:
- A bell and the form name, so several forms in one chat stay apart.
- Each field name in bold with its value. A value is cut at 1,000 characters and the whole message at 3,500.
- File names with a paperclip, when the visitor attached files. The files stay in Formgong and open from the dashboard.
- The page the form was sent from and the time in your own time zone.
Spam is never posted to the chat. It stays in the inbox, where you can check it.
Telegram on other form backends
We read each service's own pricing and help pages on 11.10.2026. Where their docs say nothing, the table says so instead of guessing.

Formspree is the other service with Telegram on its free plan. The difference is what you do with the message: in Formgong the lead is handled from the chat, and the free plan takes six times more submissions.
Connect it in one tap
- Open My forms, then your form, then Form settings, and pick the Telegram section.
- Click Telegram. It opens the Formgong bot with a one-time code already filled in.
- Press Start in Telegram. The bot answers that the chat is connected to your form.
- Send a test from your site. The message arrives in the chat with its buttons.
The link holds a one-time code that works for 30 minutes. You never see a bot token or a chat ID, and Formgong never asks for your phone number.
For a team chat, add the Formgong bot to the group and send the /connect command with the group code from the same settings section. One form can post to your private chat and to a group at the same time. Telegram does not count against the webhook limit, so on Free you still have the webhook slot for Slack, Discord or Make.
If Telegram does not answer
Formgong tries 5 times, waiting 30 seconds, 2 minutes, 10 minutes and 30 minutes between tries. If the last try fails, the owner gets one email about it, at most once a day per form and channel. The submission itself is never lost: it is in the inbox, and on every plan it is also emailed to you.

Questions
Is website form to Telegram free?
Yes. Telegram is on the free plan with no extra limit. The free plan has 300 submissions a month and also emails each submission to one address.
Do I need to create a Telegram bot or find my chat ID?
No. You click a link in Form settings and press Start in the Formgong bot. The link carries a one-time code, so there is no token or chat ID to copy.
Can several people get the same form in Telegram?
Yes. Add the Formgong bot to a group and send /connect with the group code. A form can post to a private chat and to groups at the same time.
Can I reply to the visitor from Telegram?
Yes, when the form has an email field. Reply opens an email to the visitor with the subject filled in. Mark handled and Mark as spam change the submission in Formgong.
Do spam submissions reach Telegram?
No. A honeypot and cookie-free checks run on every form, and spam stays in the inbox. Cloudflare Turnstile is optional.
