How to install a Ghost theme
- Download the zip. Don't unzip it. In Ghost Admin, open Settings → Design & branding → Change theme → Upload theme, then activate it.
- Create a free form at formgong.com/new and copy its access key. It starts with
fk_and is safe to put in a web page. Paste it under Settings → Design & branding → Customize → Homepage → Formgong access key. - Send a test message from your site and check that it reaches your Formgong inbox.
The themes ask for Ghost 5 or later. Inside: home.hbs is the design, one partial per section in partials/sections/, and post, page, tag and author templates.
What to expect
- The home page texts are written into the theme files. Ghost Admin only takes the access key, so changing a heading means editing
partials/sections/. - Posts and pages use a simple layout in the theme's style, not a magazine design.
- They come from our template generator, and the photos were generated for the templates. Replace them before launch.
One kit for the whole site
The template is the first part. The Formgong account that receives its form and emails you each message can also run a help chat that answers visitors from your own pages, and collect star reviews that show on the site once you approve them. Each part goes in as a key or a short embed code, and you manage all of it from one dashboard.
Tell us what's missing
If your kind of business has no Ghost theme here yet, or a step here doesn't match what you see, email support@formgong.com. We read every message and fix the page, and the next templates we make are the ones people ask for there.
Questions
Does it work on Ghost(Pro)?
On a Ghost(Pro) plan that allows custom themes, yes, and on any self-hosted Ghost. The Starter plan only takes Ghost's official themes.
Why not use Ghost's members signup as the contact form?
Members signup collects an email for newsletters. A contact form needs a message and a reply address, and Formgong sends you each one by email.
Are they free for client work?
Yes, under the MIT license. Keep the license file.
