Where Formspree is stronger
- Integrations. Telegram, Discord and Slack on Free; Sheets, Airtable, Notion, CRMs and Zapier on paid tiers. Forminit's list is shorter.
- Nothing is lost at the limit. Formspree keeps over-limit submissions in a folder for reprocessing. Forminit's docs say paused forms reject submissions and those are not stored.
- Teams. Seats and a rules engine on the higher tiers.
Where Getform (Forminit) is stronger
- EU hosting with a DPA. Submission data on AWS in Ireland; Formspree's policy names the United States among processing locations.
- Developer tooling. An SDK on npm, form analytics, and webhooks on its plans.
- Retention automation. Pro and higher auto-delete submissions per form on a schedule, useful for GDPR minimisation.
- Twice the free volume, 100 a month against 50, though on a single form.
Who should pick which
- Leads must reach a CRM, Sheets or Slack: Formspree.
- EU data residency is a requirement: Forminit, or any backend with EU storage.
- You ship through an SDK and want analytics: Forminit.
- Losing over-limit submissions is unacceptable: Formspree, whose over-limit folder keeps them.
- More than one form on a free plan: Formspree (Forminit's Free has a single form).
A third option
We build Formgong, which is why it sits in the third column, and the honest version of its pitch is one sentence: a bigger free plan (1,000 submissions a month) with Telegram and an inbox included, EU storage, and reviews plus an AI help chat in the same account, at the cost of a shorter integration list than Formspree's. The full head-to-heads are Formgong vs Formspree and Formgong vs Getform, and each names where the other service wins.
Questions
Is Getform still a thing, or is it Forminit now?
Getform was renamed to Forminit on 14 January 2026. Old getform.io endpoints keep accepting submissions; the dashboard and docs live on forminit.com. Comparisons of "Getform" today are comparisons of Forminit.
Which has the bigger free plan, Formspree or Getform?
Forminit's free plan takes 100 submissions a month against Formspree's 50, but on a single form; Formspree's Free allows more forms. Both are sized as trials next to free plans counted in the hundreds or thousands.
What happens over the monthly limit on each?
Formspree saves over-limit submissions in a separate folder without sending emails, and reprocesses them after an upgrade. Forminit pauses the form and rejects new submissions, which its docs say are not stored.
Which one stores data in the EU?
Forminit: submission data on AWS in Ireland, with a DPA. Formspree's privacy policy says data may be processed in the United States and other countries where it operates.
