What merchants say in 1 and 2 star reviews
Fera's listing showed 2,023 reviews on 23 October 2026, 42 of them at 1 or 2 stars: about 1 in 48. The sharpest ones are about display tied to quotas and reliability. Three of them:
“Fera completely hid my front-end review widgets … because an outgoing email quota was reached”
Fera replied that notifications about the usage limit were shown and refunded the merchant; the design itself, display tied to a quota, is what the review objects to.
“Google Shopping review feed has been broken for months.”
“Our reviews have been down for 3 days due to slowness issues on their server”
These are single merchants' accounts, and we could not check them. The full reviews, and Fera's replies, are on the linked pages.
When to stay with Fera
- You are on Wix, Ecwid or Big Cartel and want a native app. Fera's platform list is unusually broad, and its widgets are genuinely well designed.
- You want incentives built in. Fera's points and reward automations for leaving reviews are part of the product.
- Unlimited reviews and users on every tier is in its pricing table; the meters are on orders, requests and media, not the reviews themselves.
If your volume sits comfortably inside a tier, Fera's design is a fair reason to stay.
Where Formgong fits, and what it does not do
- You never want review display tied to a meter. Formgong's widget shows your approved reviews, full stop; there is no quota whose exhaustion hides them.
- You want a free plan that is actually free. No review limit, photo and video included, on any number of sites.
- You sell on WooCommerce. Fera's platform list does not include WooCommerce; our WordPress plugin does, and with our WordPress plugin, a WooCommerce store emails each buyer after a completed order: one form for every product in the order, reviews sent from it marked Verified buyer, and one reminder for the products still without a review. A refund or cancellation stops a waiting email.
- A customer can also record a voice review, up to two minutes: the speech is transcribed on the server (Whisper on Cloudflare Workers AI, the spoken language detected automatically), the transcript becomes the review text when the customer wrote none, and a recorded review always waits for your approval. None of the apps on this page offer that.
The widget filters by star rating and sorts by date or rating, and the same script shows stars under products in your lists and a small rating badge on any page.
What Formgong does not do: no points or reward automations, no Wix-native app (the widget is pasted HTML there), and on Shopify no order emails or verified label yet. The AI summary, translation, mood tags and AI moderation are on the paid plan.
Until 31 December 2026: an account that connects reviews gets every paid reviews feature free for 6 months: the AI summary, mood tags, translation, AI moderation and no Formgong link under the widget. Your reviews and settings stay when the 6 months end.
How to move your reviews from Fera
Export from Fera
- In the Fera dashboard, open Configuration, scroll to Review Data and choose Export Reviews, then click +New Export and fill in the reason field. Fera's help says stores with many reviews get the export prepared by its team and sent by email as a CSV.
- Check the file for ratings, text, names, dates and product IDs before importing anywhere; migration guides note some Fera exports need those requested explicitly.
Then import it into Formgong
- Create a free Formgong account, open Reviews and add your site.
- On the site's page, click Import reviews. Choose the CSV, pick the language the reviews are written in, and click Import. Formgong recognises a Fera file by its rating and author columns. Importing is on the free plan, with no limit on the number of reviews.
- Read the result. It counts the reviews that came in, the ones already imported before, and the rows skipped for a missing rating or an unreadable date. If the file marks a review as spam, rejected or hidden, it arrives hidden.
- Nothing is public yet. Click Publish N imported reviews, approve them one by one, or click Undo this import. On the free plan, reviews you have not published are deleted after 30 days, so decide within a month.
- Put the widget on your pages (code below). Then switch the old app off, so it stops sending review emails and the page does not show two widgets.
What comes across: the star rating, the title and text, the reviewer's name, the original date, the product and your public reply. What does not: reviewer emails, photos and videos, verified badges, helpful votes and custom questions. One file can hold 5,000 rows and 5 MB, so split a bigger export. You can run 20 imports a day, and importing the same file twice adds nothing.
A Fera file goes through our generic CSV path: columns named like rating, author, date and product map automatically. We have not run a live Fera export through it ourselves; if yours imports oddly, send it to support@formgong.com and we will fix the mapping.
Our Shopify app has been in Shopify's App Store review since 14 October 2026 and was still not listed on 20 October. Until it is, the widget goes into a Custom Liquid section, where {{ product.handle }} matches the product handle in your file. Off Shopify, paste the same two lines and set data-product yourself. You can export your Formgong reviews to CSV at any time, too.
<!-- Shopify: a Custom Liquid section on the product template -->
<div data-formgong-reviews="fk_your_access_key" data-product="{{ product.handle }}"></div>
<script src="https://formgong.com/reviews.js" defer></script>
<!-- Any other site: set data-product to the product handle from your export -->
<div data-formgong-reviews="fk_your_access_key" data-product="blue-teapot"></div>
<script src="https://formgong.com/reviews.js" defer></script>One account for the rest of the site
The same free account covers the rest of a small shop's site. A contact form that emails you every message, an AI help chat that answers visitors from your own pages, and free website templates with the form already connected. Reviews, forms and the chat live in one dashboard, so there is one login and one support address.
Tell us what we got wrong
If you moved from Fera to Formgong, or tried and went back, we want to know what broke. If a fact on this page is out of date, or the import skipped rows it should have kept, write to support@formgong.com. We read every message and correct this page when we are wrong.
Questions
Does Fera have a free plan?
No. Fera's pricing FAQ says the free plan was discontinued; every plan is paid, with a trial, and meters monthly orders, review requests and media storage. Formgong Reviews stays free with no review limit.
Why did my Fera reviews disappear from my store?
One documented case in Fera's own App Store reviews: widgets were hidden when an email quota was reached, which Fera answered with a refund. Check your plan's usage first; if the design bothers you, pick a tool whose display is not tied to quotas.
How do I export reviews from Fera?
Configuration → Review Data → Export Reviews → +New Export, with a reason; large exports are prepared by Fera's team and emailed as CSV, per its help centre.
Can Formgong import Fera reviews?
Yes, through the generic CSV import: columns like rating, author, date and product map automatically, free, up to 5,000 rows per file. Photos, videos and verified badges do not come across.
