Comparison

Judge.me vs CusRev: the WooCommerce question

Formgong team ·

This pair has a twist: on WooCommerce it is no longer a choice. Judge.me sunset its WooCommerce app on 31 October 2025, with data access ending 19 November; CusRev (Customer Reviews for WooCommerce) stayed, free, with reviews stored in your own WordPress database. So the page answers two real questions: what Woo stores that lost Judge.me should know about CusRev, and how the two compare for anyone still weighing platforms. We build Formgong Reviews, the third column, declared as ours.

Short answer: On WooCommerce today the comparison is settled by availability: Judge.me is Shopify-only since its 31 October 2025 sunset, and CusRev is the established free WooCommerce plugin, with unlimited review invitations, media reviews and your data in your own database. On Shopify the reverse holds: CusRev does not run there, and Judge.me's free plan is the category benchmark. They compete only in the past tense.

Where Judge.me is stronger

  • On Shopify, everything. CusRev does not run there; Judge.me's free plan (unlimited reviews, media, review requests) is the benchmark of the category.
  • A hosted service's conveniences. Cross-shop features, syncs and widgets maintained server-side, no plugin updates on your site.

Where CusRev is stronger

  • It exists on WooCommerce. The whole category lesson of autumn 2025.
  • Your data, physically. Reviews are WordPress comments in your database; no vendor decision can remove your access to them.
  • Free forever covers a lot. Unlimited invitations, picture and video reviews, review coupons and a Google Shopping feed on Basic, per CusRev's own pricing page.

Who should pick which

  • Shopify store: Judge.me (CusRev is not available).
  • WooCommerce store that wants everything in its own database: CusRev.
  • WooCommerce store that lost Judge.me and its photos: import your export into CusRev or the third option below; photos not saved by 19 November 2025 are gone either way.
  • A store that may leave WooCommerce someday: a platform-independent tool saves the next migration.

A third option

Formgong Reviews is ours and sits between the two models: a hosted service like Judge.me (so the sunset lesson applies, which is why export to CSV is on every plan and the privacy policy covers deletion), but platform-independent like no app tied to one store system, two lines of HTML on any site, a WordPress plugin for WooCommerce order emails, a Judge.me CSV import for the stores rebuilding after the sunset, and voice reviews neither of these offers. The honest comparisons: Judge.me alternative and CusRev alternative, each with its when-to-stay section.

Questions

Can I still use Judge.me on WooCommerce?

No. Judge.me sunset its WooCommerce app on 31 October 2025, with data accessible until 19 November 2025 and permanently removed after that, per its own notice. On WooCommerce, the native choices are CusRev and other WordPress plugins, or platform-independent tools.

Is CusRev a full Judge.me replacement?

On WooCommerce, largely: free unlimited invitations, picture and video reviews, coupons and a Google feed, with reviews in your own database. What it lacks: anything outside WooCommerce, AI summaries and translation, and a hosted review page.

How do I move Judge.me reviews to CusRev or Formgong?

Only from an export made before 19 November 2025, when Judge.me's data access for WooCommerce ended. Both tools import a CSV; Formgong recognises Judge.me's columns automatically. Videos were never in the export, per Judge.me's notice.

What is the lesson of the Judge.me WooCommerce sunset?

Pick review tools you can export from, and export the day you decide to switch, not after the shutdown. Reviews in your own database (CusRev) or a service with CSV export on every plan both pass that test.
