Wufoo alternative: what to use instead

Wufoo has been building online forms since 2006, and its limits show that age: the free plan allows 5 forms, 100 entries a month and 10 fields per form, file storage is for paid accounts only, and a free form deactivates for the month once it passes its entry limit. We build Formgong, so it is listed first among the replacements; the rest are described from their own pages.

Short answer: Wufoo's free plan is tight by today's standards: 5 forms, 100 entries a month, 10 fields per form, no file storage, and forms deactivate over the limit. A modern builder such as Tally offers unlimited forms and responses on Free; for a form in your own design, an HTML form with Formgong takes 1,000 free submissions a month with email, Telegram and EU storage. Wufoo still fits teams that use its report builder and long-standing integrations.

Why people look for a Wufoo alternative

  • The free plan's three ceilings. 5 forms, 100 entries a month and 10 fields per form, per Wufoo's pricing page.
  • Entries over the limit close the form. Wufoo deactivates a free account's forms once they exceed the monthly entry limit, until the next month.
  • Storage is paid-only. The pricing FAQ is direct: storage is only allowed on paid accounts, so file-upload fields are off the free table.
  • The design shows its era. Wufoo's embedded forms carry a distinctly 2010s look unless you style them heavily.

Where Wufoo is the better choice

Wufoo's paid tiers buy real capacity (entries scale to hundreds of thousands a month) and its report builder, payment integrations and long list of connected apps have had two decades to mature. A team already invested in Wufoo reports and workflows rarely saves anything by moving a working setup.

Replacing an embedded Wufoo form with your own form

A builder embed is replaced in two steps: a form that matches your site, and a backend that receives it.

  1. Take a form from our templates, or describe what you need to the form generator and download the markup.
  2. Point it at https://formgong.com/submit with your free access key, paste it where the embed was, and send a test.

The form inherits your site's fonts and colours because it is your own HTML, and submissions land in the dashboard inbox, your email and Telegram. The HTML docs cover redirects, autoreplies and the honeypot.

1. Formgong

Best for: Static and AI-built sites that want leads in Telegram and email, EU storage and 12 interface languages.

  • Free plan: 1,000 submissions a month, unlimited forms, CSV export.
  • Telegram: Every plan, including Free; several chats per form.
  • Data location: Submissions stored in Cloudflare D1 with EU jurisdiction.

Watch out: A young service with few native integrations: webhooks, email, Telegram and Google Sheets. Files are limited to 5 MiB each.

2. Web3Forms

Best for: A generous free quota with one access key and no account dashboard work.

  • Free plan: 250 submissions a month, unlimited forms, 1 recipient.
  • Telegram: Starter, Pro and Agency, not Free.
  • Data location: Infrastructure on AWS, Cloudflare and Hetzner; data may be processed in several regions.

Watch out: Stops accepting submissions at the monthly limit. Telegram and other integrations need a paid plan.

3. Formspree

Best for: Teams that need many plugins (CRM, Sheets, Stripe), team seats and a long track record.

  • Free plan: 50 submissions a month, 30-day archive.
  • Telegram: Telegram plugin on every plan.
  • Data location: May be processed in the United States and other countries where Formspree operates.

Watch out: The free plan is meant for testing; prices per submission are high on the small paid plans.

Questions

What is the best free Wufoo alternative?

For a builder, Tally: unlimited forms and responses on Free against Wufoo's 5 forms, 100 entries and 10 fields. For your own form on your own page, Formgong: 1,000 free submissions a month with email, Telegram, EU storage and file uploads.

What are the Wufoo free plan limits?

5 forms, 100 entries per month across them, 10 fields per form, and no file storage, per Wufoo's pricing page; a form that passes the monthly entry limit is deactivated until the next month.

Does Wufoo support file uploads on the free plan?

No. Wufoo's pricing FAQ says storage is only allowed on paid accounts, which start at 1GB. Formgong's free plan accepts file uploads up to its per-file size cap.

When should I stay with Wufoo?

When your team relies on its reports, payments and integrations built over the years, and the paid tier you are on fits your entry volume. Migration costs are real; a working Wufoo setup is not broken.
