Help chat says it doesn't know

Last updated

The chat answers only from its Knowledge and says so when it finds nothing. Every such question is listed under Unanswered questions (30 days) on the bot page, which tells you what to add.

Every answer is “I don't know”

The bot has no knowledge yet. Under Knowledge, add your sitemap.xml or a page URL and press Fetch, paste text, or upload a PDF, TXT, Markdown or CSV file.

Pages were fetched but the answers are still empty

The chat reads the HTML as the server sends it and does not run JavaScript, so a single-page app (a typical Lovable, Bolt or v0 build) gives little or no text. Paste the text instead. A scanned PDF made of page images gives nothing either.

Some pages are missing

Each Fetch adds up to 20 new pages from a sitemap; press it again to continue. The Free chat plan holds 50 pages. Only public pages on the bot's own domains are read, served as HTML or plain text with a status below 400. A page already in Knowledge is skipped by a new Fetch: press Refresh on its row to read it again.

It answers one question but not the same question in other words

Each question is matched by keywords and by meaning, so other wording usually works. A page added in the last few hours may still be matched by keywords only. If a wording still misses, add the words your visitors use, or a line under Facts the bot must follow, which always win over your pages.

The chat says it is offline

The chat answers only on the domains you listed for the bot; other sites get HTTP 403 and the panel says the chat is offline. Add the domain (example.com also covers www.example.com; add localhost to test locally). If your site sends a Content-Security-Policy, allow the Formgong origin in script-src and connect-src.
