Form submissions not arriving
Last updated
First find out whether Formgong received the submission at all: open the form in the dashboard and look at its inbox and its Spam list. If it is in neither, the form never reached Formgong; if it is there, delivery stopped later. Then find your symptom below.
It is in Spam
Submissions that fail a filter go to Spam: they are kept, not sent to you and not counted, and you can restore any of them. Each one shows why, for example “Hidden honeypot field filled”, “Sent too soon after the form was rendered”, “Many links”, “Typical spam words”, or one of your own filters (country, distance, throwaway email address, alphabet, the same submission sent again). Loosen the filter that caught real messages.
The sender sees “This form is not accepting submissions right now.”
The form is paused. While it is paused, nothing is stored, counted or sent to you. Turn it back on in the form's settings with Turn the form back on.
The sender sees “This domain is not on the form's allow list.”
The page sending the form is not under Allowed domains. Add its domain there, one per line; an empty list accepts every domain.
Submissions say “Waiting for email confirmation”
Your account email is not confirmed yet, so submissions are held. After 20 held submissions, new ones are refused with “The form owner must confirm their email before more submissions are accepted.” Sign in once with the link or the code Formgong emailed you: that confirms the address, and the held submissions are delivered.
Submissions say “Held: limit reached”
This month's limit and the 20% grace are used up. Held submissions are saved and delivered when you upgrade or when the next month starts.
They are in the inbox but not in Telegram, Slack, Sheets or your webhook
Formgong retries a failing channel, and if the last attempt fails it emails you, at most once a day for each form and channel, with what went wrong and how to reconnect. Fix the channel in the form's settings. If the email provider rate-limits Formgong, those emails are held and sent the next day; Telegram and webhooks are not affected.
Nothing reaches Formgong at all
The form itself is wrong: a placeholder access key, fields without a name, or a page that posts somewhere else. Paste the page address into the form checker, which reads the published page and names the problem.
