Add the review widget on Wix

On Wix, the widget goes into an Embed HTML element. The Formgong Wix app is not listed yet. These steps are for the Wix Editor.

Add the widget

  1. In Formgong, open Reviews, pick your site, open the Widget tab, go to step Add to site and press Copy. No review site yet? Get started first.
  2. In the Wix Editor, open the page where the reviews should appear.
  3. Click Add Elements on the left, then Embed Code.
  4. Under Popular Embeds, click Embed HTML to add it to the page.
  5. Click the new element, click Enter Code and paste the Formgong code under Add your code here. Add data-lang with your site's language, as below.
  6. Click Apply, then drag the element's edges until the reviews fit.
  7. Publish the site and open the page.

Wix runs embedded HTML in an iframe, so the widget cannot read your page's language. data-lang sets it: en, de, fr and so on.

Wix Stores product pages

Wix Stores has one Product Page whose design applies to every product. An Embed HTML element on it carries the same code for all products, so it cannot pass each product to the widget. Leave data-product out there, and the widget shows every review of your shop.

Common problems

The reviews are cut off, or scroll inside a box

The element is an iframe with the size you gave it, and Wix notes that embedded code is not responsive. Drag the element taller, and check the page on mobile too.

The widget is in English on a site in another language

Add data-lang with your language to the div, for example data-lang="de".

Every product shows the same reviews

That is the shared Product Page described above. Without the Wix app, the widget shows the shop's reviews there.

Only the “Write a review” link shows

The widget shows reviews only after you approve them. Open the site's Reviews tab and approve the ones under Waiting. On a product page, the product also needs approved reviews of its own.
