Google stars and the product reviews feed

Google shows review stars for products, not for a business's reviews of itself. This page lists the structured data Formgong adds on each platform and the reviews feed for Google Merchant Center.

Structured data

Google does not show review stars for a business's reviews of itself (a LocalBusiness or Organization page), so the plain widget and the badge add no structured data. For products:

• The Shopify theme block and the Wix widget can add Product structured data with the rating and up to 10 reviews. It is added only for approved reviews and only when the page does not already have a rating.
• The WordPress plugin adds the rating to the Product structured data WooCommerce already prints, so Google sees one product with one rating.

The Google reviews feed

The Google reviews feed for Merchant Center is under Settings → Sites → your site. It works for Shopify and WooCommerce stores, where Formgong gets each product's page, GTIN and SKU from the store. It lists approved written reviews collected on your site, not imported ones. Google shows stars in Shopping once it has at least 50 of your product reviews.
