How forms work in WooCommerce

WooCommerce stores often send contact mail through WordPress. When that mail lands in spam, a product question is gone.

The Formgong plugin posts the form to Formgong. It does not replace checkout or payments. Telegram is instant. On the Free plan, every submission is emailed too.

Set it up in WooCommerce

  1. In WordPress open Plugins, Add New, search for "Formgong", click Install Now, then Activate. The directory page is https://wordpress.org/plugins/formgong/. If your site blocks the plugin directory, download https://formgong.com/downloads/formgong-wordpress.zip and upload it in Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin.
  2. Open Settings, then Formgong. Paste the access key and click Send a test submission. Leave the endpoint at https://formgong.com unless you host Formgong yourself.
  3. Add the block and pick a template, or use [formgong template="aula"]. A shortcode or block template wins. clinic-appointment is one of the industry slugs.
  4. Turn on the product question, the order question, or both. An empty product or order template inherits the main one. The slug plain forces the built-in contact form.
  5. Publish and send a test from the product page and from the customer order page. The hidden field _page_url stores that page, not only the site home.
  6. If the block is missing, confirm the plugin is active and reload the editor. On Storefront, Astra, and Twenty, the form skin stays inside the form.

Questions and answers

Does this change checkout?

No. Checkout, payments, and order emails stay in WooCommerce. The plugin only adds question forms.

Where do product questions go?

They go to the Formgong inbox. Telegram is instant on every plan. On the Free plan, every submission is emailed to one address. The product name and SKU ride along as hidden fields.

Which template is used?

The shortcode or block attribute wins. Then the product or order setting. An empty setting inherits the main template. The slug plain forces the built-in contact form.

Why does the inbox show the site home?

WordPress often sends only the site origin as the referrer. The plugin adds a hidden _page_url for the current page. Formgong keeps it when the host matches.

Can I use it without WooCommerce?

Yes. On a plain WordPress site the same plugin shows the contact form. Product and order options stay off until WooCommerce is active.
